Google announced its own free and open source version : Chrome! .  Chrome is written from ground up and from the looks of it packs a lot of punch in terms of security, anonymous surfing and SPEED. Some of the coolest features include

- Taking a tab and dragging it into its own window

- Giving out a “red” warning on entering a malicious site

- Slickest looking GUI which fathoms amazing speeds

- Each tab you open has its own process => one tab doesn’t hang up because other one stops responding. You can just go in to the task manager (yeah it has a task manager of its own) and kill the process. Result – you dont loose your work if one tab hangs up!

- You can even see plugins within tabs (inside task manager) as separate processes

I am impressed by how fast it is. But wait, dont just take my word for it, I suggest you try it. Quick download and very quick install will get you going.  Here are some pics and vids I took from my PC. In all, the first looks suggest response times faster than even firefox or k-melon.
